Sarah Orton is a multidisciplinary artist from the Kootenays, known for her rich, expressive tone and smoky, Soul Noir style—a moody blend of 60's ballad and alt-folk driven on her electric guitar. Influenced by the musical traditions of her Doukhobor heritage and over 15 years performing in bands within Canada’s DIY scene, Orton can be found performing across the festival circuits with her solo project, with the alt-soul collective Penny Shades, or sometimes sharing the stage with the nationally renowned electro-folk act Moontricks—captivating audiences with a voice that’s timeless, gritty, and always full of heart.
