The Golden, BC premiere of Matchstick Production's 2023 ski film, The Land of Giants. Hosted by the Kicking Horse Ski Patrol, Brosis & Whitetooth Brewing Company. The 6:00pm screening is ALL AGES & the 8:30pm screening is a 19+ only event.

"The story of man vs. mountain is one that has captured our imaginations for centuries. But what if MSP flipped the script? What if, instead of focusing on the human element, we took a closer look at the mountains themselves? That's the premise of The Land of Giants, a new ski film that explores the most iconic mountains on Earth. From the Fjords of Norway to the spines of Alaska, we will get to know and understand the canvas that creates the most mind-melting moments in skiing. But most importantly, we'll come to appreciate their sheer beauty and power. Captured with revolutionary cinematography combined with genre bending music, The Land of Giants is not to be missed. The Land of Giants features the best skiers in the world, skiing unbelievable conditions and riding to the very edge and beyond. Brewery Tunes // Al Lee

Al Lee is a Canadian singer/songwriter originally from Montreal, QC. Since his departure in 2000 in search of the mountain landscape, he has had the pleasure of calling many places home before settling in the picturesque mountain town of Revelstoke, BC.

Al's music can be described as rock 'n roll, folk rock, blues, Americana, country-blues or roots. Call it what you will but it stems from his strong sense of truth about himself and his choices, his social conscious, his empathy towards the people and the world which surround him. Honest and unmerciful.

His sound has been squeezed from a rich concoction consisting of the great guitar players like Doc Watson, the power and soul of the blues of BB King, the slide mastery of Ry Cooder, the lyrical immediacy of artists like Neil Young and Ben Harper who's message extends beyond the mere four minute auditory experience. On stage his audience is kept engaged with a full sound complete with foot percussion when playing solo or when accompanied by other wonderful musicians if the opportunity presents itself.

With his first self-titled album under his belt, released in 2018. His second full length album titled Revolution St. is now out! Produced by renown Canadian artist Leeroy Stagger, and featuring seasoned Alberta session musicians Ryland Moranz (Banjo, mandolin, guitar and backing vocals), Tyson Maiko (bass) and Kyle Harmon (Drums), this album comes with more grit and attitude. Al Lee has taken his cue and has unapologetically declared his stance.

Kaeley Jade is a Métis singer/songwriter, actor, and multidisciplinary artist based in Edmonton, Alberta (amiskwaciwâskahikan). Blending lush imagery and hooky melodic lines to create her own brand of pop-forward indie folk music, Kaeley Jade has performed at venues and festivals across Canada. Past performances include BreakOut West, Coldsnap, JUNOfest, NXNE, and the Tkaronto Music Festival, and has shared the stage with Digging Roots, Preston Pablo, Delhi 2 Dublin, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and Grammy-winner Bill “Birdsong” Miller. Kaeley moves between ballads and bops with ease, and she brings an electricity to the stage whether she is playing an intimate acoustic set or playing alongside her full five-piece band. In 2022, Kaeley joined forces with award-winning playwright Trevor Schmidt to create the critically acclaimed country-folk musical Two-Headed/Half-Hearted, which premiered at Northern Light Theatre with Kaeley in the role of “Venus”. A Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Award Winner, Kaeley’s artistry has also been recognized on a national level with an Honourable Mention in the 2023 SOCAN Indigenous Songwriter Awards. Reminiscent of artists like Maggie Rogers and Vance Joy, her debut full-length album, Turpentine, is available now.

Tyler Del Pino, has a pure passion for songwriting and an honest sound infused with starry-eyed narratives; a hybrid of alt-country, Americana, and East Coast folk-rock that stays true to the roots of timeless tunes. File him beside James Taylor for his classic songwriting, Keith Urban for his polished precision, Mumford and Sons for their anthemic sing-alongs, and Strumbellas for thoughtful themes and rosy melodies, born and bred in Canada.

The international touring act, Tennyson King, is rapidly gathering fans all over the world. Born in Hong Kong, raised in Canada, this nomadic musician brings a jovial personality to the stage.  He often appears solo in great halls to small intimate theatres stunning the crowd with stories of adventure and travels while strumming electrifying guitar sounds paired with silky vocal lines. Bring in the band on the big festival stage, they create a huge sound surely to get everyone moving. Rock and roll infused with earthy roots and blues subtly laced in psychedelic ear candy.

Wayfaring and whimsical, weaving stories into melodies in his own bluesy/folk, foot-tapping style. Mister Bird highlights the magic of the wild & the subtle miracles of everyday. Recognized for his heart moving performances, and his powerful & oh so gentle voice. Gracefully singing about the heavy truths of life, love and loss, bringing them to the light in song.

Canadian singer/songwriter Tyson Ray Borsboom has created intricate portraits of love and life in the modern world using little more than his trusted acoustic guitar for accompaniment. Between his inspired songwriting describing loss, redemption and his charismatic live performances, it won't be long before he is recognized in the national indie music scene. After spending years honing his craft, Tyson has recorded an EP, LP and a number of singles, with a plethora of different talented producers/engineers. Catching the attention of folk music fans across Canada and opening for artists such as Field Guide , Craig Cardiff , Mike Edel and Okay Mann.

WOW. We couldn’t be more excited to be celebrating our 6th anniversary with all of you. Years jam packed with tasty craft beer, the absolute best people, beloved staff, and some amazing & unforgettable times.

THEME | The theme this year is…the 90’s. Like always, we’ll have prizes for the best dressed.

BEER | We’ll be tapping a couple of experimental casks, and dropping a brand new beer (in cans and on tap!)

ENTERTAINMENT | This year we’re setting up a designated dance floor, and we’ll be blasting the best of the best 90’s jams.

“The sport of skiing is unquestionably one of the most diversified recreational pursuits imaginable.

By the time a lifelong skier reaches middle age, he or she has likely dabbled in or fully dedicated him or herself to a myriad of facets within the sport. Each facet provides an entirely new set of experiences, thrills, challenges and rewards.

Matchstick Productions 2022 ski film explores this world of opportunities through the eyes of a 12 year-old freestyle phenomenon. Through his voice, the audience hears the skiing aspirations of such a 12 year-old, a kid who just wants to play and doesn’t have to ponder “real life” quite yet.

The core of this film is packed with a star studded cast of skiers shredding across the globe.

Featuring: Sam Kuch, Tonje Kvivik, Eric Hjorleifson, Markus Eder, Emily Childs, Logan Pehota, Caite Zeliff, Lucas Wachs, Mathea Olin, Cole Richardson, Craig Murray, Lucy Sackbauer, Mark Abma, Sam Cohen, Dennis Ranalter, Hunter Hess, Birk Irving and introducing Walker Woodring.

Ryan McNally & Ellorie McKnight at Whitetooth Brewing Company

Ellorie and Ryan are an old time/bluegrass/folk duo based in Whitehorse, Yukon. They met at Nimble Fingers OldTime and Bluegrass Camp in 2019 and have been trading oldtime fiddle tunes, refining harmonies, and having friendly quarrels about who gets to play fiddle ever since. The two friends recorded and released their first self-titled EP in April 2022 with Green Needle Records in Whitehorse, and spent the summer of 2022 performing throughout the Yukon, including at the Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival. They will be taking their sound outside of the territory for the first time this November and are looking forward to spending time singing songs and picking tunes in the mountains and foothills.
